Funniest mods in Starfield

Not all mods are for the greater good.

Sometimes mods are for the betterment of a game, to improve where the developers missed out. They are able to improve graphical settings, smoothness, and inventories for the better. Running a game on a PC allows you to tweak and tinker exactly the way you need to. However, sometimes mods are just for the fun of it all, and for me, these are the best ones. These are some of what I think are the funniest mods in Starfield.

Funniest mods

After trawling through the thousands of Starfield mods, I find that a lot of the ones that aren’t making quality-of-life tweaks are simply NSFW. However, I dug far enough to find some rather outlandish and funny mods for Starfield, too.

Nicolas Cage flashlight mod

I have no idea why this one wasn’t included in the original game, quite frankly. Once you install it, you will never look back. This essential mod turns your flashlight beam into a rather flattering projection of Nicolas Cage’s face. More of an essential than a funny Starfield mod, in my opinion.

PS1 Graphics mod

Do you ever just play a modern AAA game and think, “God, I hate these high-quality, almost photorealistic graphics! I miss PS1 graphics.” Well, fret no more; this mod for Starfield will make your game look like it is running with a potato for a GPU.

Downgrade those graphics and polygons to zero and pretend Starfield came out 20 years ago. This is actually probably a good funny Starfield mod for anyone trying to run the game on a terrible PC or a Samsung Smart Fridge.

Andreja, no moles mod

Kinda mean, but this one only has one purpose in the game: it removes Andreja’s moles. Poor Andreja, I can’t believe someone took the time to not only dig into but also recode the game simply to remove her moles. Funny mods are often the most pointless ones in Starfield.

Hairy men for Starfield mod

This is an essential mod for any fans of the hairier men out there. Just because it’s the future doesn’t mean men can’t be hairy. Starfield has a remarkable lack of body hair in the game, probably because Bethesda is still using the same 22-year-old engine… However, this mod comes in as an essential funny mod in Starfield, simply for representation.

Hello Kitty laser mod

Available here.

This is the crossover of the two biggest game releases of 2023. Hello Kitty Island Adventure and Starfield finally come together in this funny mod. You can reskin your laser with beautiful pink and kitty-covered decals. Fashionable, cute, and functional.

Garfield mod

It is not only a clever play on words but also a vast improvement to that rather dull opening screen. Replace the majesty of space and a looming planet with the beautiful face of Garfield. Who wouldn’t want to see everyone’s favorite lasagna-eating cat as they boot into Starfield? With this funny mod, you can.

Thomas the Tank Engine retexture mod

Give Vasco a makeover with the Thomas the Tank Engine retexture for Starfield. This funny mod makes Vasco into a rather terrifying rendition of your favorite childhood train. Trauma warnings galore; it’s pretty darn weird.
