Genshin Impact: Klee guide -- Weapons, artifacts, and talents

The diminutive 5-star Pyro bomber, Klee, has been around for a while in Genshin Impact. Those who already obtained her back in October know just how good she is (though she can be tough to get used to). Then again, players who missed out have a chance to grab her as part of the "Sparkling Steps" wish banner rerun (which lasts until June 29). Anyway, here's our Genshin Impact guide to help you with the best weapons, artifacts, and talents for Klee. Genshin Impact guide: Klee's best weapons, artifacts, and talents Since we're discussing various facets regarding Klee's build in Genshin Impact, you can refer to the pages below for the parts that you need help with: Klee's best weapon Klee's best artifact sets Klee's talent priorities and constellation Character ascension materials Gameplay tips and character summary Klee's best weapon: Multiple options Out of all the items in Genshin Impact, a select few can be considered as the best weapons for Klee. Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds (crit rate) - This 5-star catalyst can be considered the best-in-slot (BIS) weapon for Klee. It can easily trump others owing to its stacking elemental damage bonus (maximum of four stacks) while the character is active. The movement speed bonus also helps since Klee is a smaller character. In fact, the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is available now as part of the "Epitome Invocation" banner while Klee's wish banner is also up. Skyward Atlas (ATK%) - If you don't have the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, then Skyward Atlas (also another 5-star weapon) can be used on Klee. It provides an elemental damage increase. Likewise, normal attacks proc an effect that seeks out and deals damage to enemies. Solar Pearl (crit rate) - The Solar Pearl is a 4-star catalyst. You do need to purchase the Gnostic Hymn upgrade for the Battle Pass, but, at the very least, it won't be as expensive or heavily reliant on RNG as the 5-star weapons mentioned above. The weapon boosts Klee's elemental skill/burst when you hit with normal attacks, and vice versa. It's great due to Klee's slightly "freeform" DPS rotation. The Widsith (crit damage) - The Widsith is a 4-star catalyst that can drop from wishes. It's a lot easier to acquire and refine to its maximum level. It does have a little bit of randomness involved when it comes to the buff you'll get (i.e., ATK, elemental damage, or elemental mastery). If all the stars align, though, then Klee can easily burst down her foes. Mappa Mare (elemental mastery) - Mappa Mare is a purely free-to-play option, though it doesn't aid Klee as much as the ones noted above. It does provide an elemental damage bonus whenever you trigger an elemental reaction (i.e., Vaporize, Melt, or Overload). Dodoco Tales (ATK%) - There is, however, another free-to-play option that will become available soon as part of the Midsummer Island Adventure premier event. Dodoco Tales has a particular effect that lets normal attacks buff charged attack damage, and charged attacks boost ATK overall. This might be the best (freebie) weapon for Klee in Genshin Impact once we can pick it up from the event shop. All right, let's talk about the best artifacts for Klee in the next part of our Genshin Impact guide. Klee's best artifacts: Crimson Witch of Flames vs. Lavawalker Bar none, the Crimson Witch of Flames tends to be considered as the best artifact set for Klee in Genshin Impact. Take note of the set bonuses: 2-piece: +15% Pyro damage bonus. 4-piece: +40% Overload and Burning damage; +15% Vaporize and Melt damage; 2-piece Pyro damage bonus is increased by 50% of its starting value after using an elemental skill (maximum of three stacks and lasts 10 seconds). However, do remember that the 4-piece bonus is primarily for those who rely on reaction comps, as well as the Pyro damage bonus from the elemental skill. If you're having trouble with this, or the Crimson Witch items that you have rolled with terrible stats, then you've got another option: 2-piece Crimson Witch and 2-piece Gladiator's Finale. The latter's bonus is just there to give you the extra +18% ATK combined with the Crimson Witch's +15% Pyro damage bonus. It's more consistent and doesn't require you to do anything fancy. The last option is to use the 4-piece Lavawalker set. The 2-piece bonus isn't what we need (+40% Pyro resistance). Instead, we're looking at the 4-piece bonus (+35% damage against enemies affected by Pyro). This is fine if you're going for a reverse Melt comp (i.e., Pyro to debuff and Cryo to proc), or if Klee is soloing/not relying on elemental reactions (i.e., her abilities tend to blast lots of hostiles with Pyro anyway). Artifact stats: Main stats - ATK% sands and Pyro damage goblet. For the circlet, go with either crit rate or crit damage depending on which stat is needed (i.e., try to get a 1:2 ratio). Sub stats - Prioritize crit rate, crit damage, and ATK%. In any case, let's discuss Klee's talents and constellations in the next part of our guide. Klee's talent priorities So, how exactly do Klee's talents work in Genshin Impact? Normal Attack: Kaboom! - The name itself already implies that this is your go-to pick for DPS throughput. Your normal attacks can be spammed without finishing the full flourish. It does require a bit of animation canceling (i.e, tapping the attack button to throw a bomb while pressing "W" to move forward or the spacebar to jump). You can also do the same for the charged attack which spawns a flower that'll blast enemies. Jumpty Dumpty - Klee's elemental skill tosses a giant mine that bounces and spawns smaller mines. While part of a freeform rotation, it isn't necessarily something you'd prioritize compared to her normal/charged attacks. At best, it can be used to cancel the normal attack animations and gain the 4-piece Crimson Witch buff. Sparks 'n' Splash - Ideally, you'll want to level up Klee's elemental burst after ranking up her normal attack further. The burst will summon floating flowers that fire lasers and blow up enemies. Leveling this up also provides a bigger boost if Klee is already at constellation rank 1 (C1). Other talents Pounding Surprise - Klee's normal attacks and elemental skill have a 50% chance to grant an Explosive Spark. This makes the next charged attack consume no stamina while dealing +50% more damage. Sparkling Burst - When Klee's charged attack results in a critical hit, all party members gain +2 elemental energy. All of my Treasures - Displays resources/materials that are unique to Mondstadt on the minimap. Note: Klee's talents use Freedom booklets and samachurl scrolls to level up. Constellations Let's face it, trying to get extra constellations on any 5-star character in Genshin Impact is extremely expensive. In any case, here are Klee's constellations: C1: Chained Reactions - Attacks and skills have a chance to summon sparks that bombard opponents, dealing 120% of the damage from Sparks 'n' Splash (elemental burst). C2: Explosive Frags - Reduces the defenses of opponents by 23% for 10 seconds if they're hit by the elemental skill's mines. C3: Exquisite Compound - +3 levels for your elemental skill; maximum level is 15. C4: Sparkly Explosion - If Klee leaves the field during her elemental burst, an explosion will deal 555% of her ATK as Pyro damage. C5: Nova Burst - +3 levels for your elemental burst; maximum level is 15. C6: Blazing Delight - While the elemental burst is active, party members other than Klee will regenerate +3 energy. When the burst ends, all party members gain +10% Pyro damage bonus for 25 seconds. Anyway, let's go to the next part of our guide to discuss Klee's ascension materials. Character ascension materials Klee's character ascension materials can be found all over Teyvat. Here they are: Scrolls - Dropped by samachurls (hilichurl shamans). Agnidus Agade - Dropped by the Pyro Regisvine; purchased from Souvenir Shop; higher-tier versions can be crafted by an alchemist NPC. Everflame Seed - Dropped by the Pyro Regisvine. Philanemo Mushroom - Found of rooftops and eaves in Mondstadt's towns and houses. You can refer to our Philanemo Mushroom farming guide for more information. Anyway, let's talk about what you can expect when Klee is in your Genshin Impact team. Genshin Impact: Klee character summary and gameplay tips We've discussed Klee's weapons, artifacts, and talents in-depth already, but is she actually viable in your Genshin Impact comps? For the sake of clarity, Klee is easily one of the best main DPS characters in Genshin Impact. The ability to throw bombs, mines, and lasers, as well as blowing all your foes to smithereens, remains unrivaled. You'll be using normal attacks/elemental skills, then switching to a charged attack for the boosted damage thanks to one of her talents. Likewise, the consistent application of Pyro on a wide area ensures that Klee's DPS throughput remains consistent and, in a way, almost "spammy." The biggest downside, however, is that Klee is very awkward to use, especially if you just obtained her. The wind-up animations of her normal attack combos and charged attacks can take a while, which means you'll need to master animation canceling. The most basic idea is to simply move forward while tapping the attack button. Alternatively, you can jump too. Then, there's the elemental skill that can be used as part of the rotation. If you've yet to master this concept, then Klee will likely be left open to enemy attacks or you'll have a tough time with her mobility. Consider as well that the "spammy" usage of Pyro can be hectic when trying to come up with elemental reactions (i.e., Vaporize). However, you might find it easier if you go with Melt comps (i.e., using Ganyu's burst). In the end, though, you've got a character who trumps most of the peeps in Genshin Impact's roster thanks to her capabilities.
