Make your permanent decision not so permanent.

Upon starting Hogwarts Legacy, you will have to make a decision on which House you can join. Each of the game’s four Houses provides the player with its own aesthetic touches and minor gameplay benefits, so it pays to pick the one that best suits your preferences. However, it’s only natural that some players may change their minds about the Houses they want to choose. If you want to know how, or even if, you can change Houses in Hogwarts Legacy, and how to change it via the Wizarding World, this guide will give you the answers you need.

Can you change Houses in the game?

Sadly, Hogwarts Legacy does not provide players with an easy or conventional method in-game for changing their preferred Houses. By default, once you choose which House to join at the start of the game, you cannot reverse this decision. To play the game with a different House, you’ll need to make a new character.

Ahead of playing, however, you can pick a house using the Wizarding World website. After going through the process of making a profile, you can then take a quiz to figure out your house. But how do you change houses using the site if the one you get isn’t the one you want?

Fortunately, the process of doing so should prove fairly straightforward. All you have to do is head to your profile page, scroll to the bottom, and click on the delete button. After doing this, you can make a brand new account and go through the process of finishing the quiz to try and get preferred House.

If you wish to learn more about the different Houses in Hogwarts Legacy and how to choose one, you can check out our other guides on the subject. Although this may not make for the most ideal method for switching Houses, it might at least provide some comfort for players knowing that they are not completely locked into a decision no matter what.
