Kafka is a 5-star character from Honkai: Star Rail and is the damage-over-time queen of the game. As a Nihility Lightning character, Kafka is able to inflict the “Shock” DoT effect on enemies while attacking, and better yet, produce even more DoT damage on enemies who already has a DoT effect on them. This makes Kafka a unique damage dealer character. While other DPS characters, such as Seele or Blade, rely on offensive stats and Crit Rate / Crit DMG to increase their damage output, Kafka becomes a force to be reckoned with in her own way. Light Cones

Kafka is a Nihility character, and therefore, must deal damage with her own unique methods.
- Patience is All You Need is Kafka’s personal Light Cone and the best option for those who are dedicated to maining Kafka. This weapon provides a flat DMG increase and SPD increase, while also providing another DoT effect of its own. Additionally, 5-star Light Cones have higher base stats compared to their 4-star counterparts. All of this combined makes this her best Light Cone, but unless you’re a diehard Kafka fan, you may not need to go far to find a 4-star Light Cone that will suit her well.
- Good Night and Sleep Well is Kafka’s best 4-star Light Cone option and is competitive with her 5-star option. This Light Cone increases the damage dealt by the wearer (up to 3 times) for every debuff the enemy has, including DoTs. This means, when paired with the right team, Kafka will always gain a 36% flat DMG buff. When superimpositioned to higher levels, the value of this weapon increases, with a potential 72% flat DMG boost.
- Fermata is Kafka’s best free-to-play option. As a weapon available in the Forgotten Hall shop, this is the easiest weapon she has access to. This Light Cone increases Kafka’s Break Effect by 16%, and increases the wearer’s DMG to any enemy afflicted with Shock or Wind Shear.
Relics & Eidolons
As a character who relies on DoTs, Kafka actually does not need much Crit stats like most traditional DPS characters, as DoTs cannot crit. This can make her a bit easier to build, as her main stat and sub-stat requirements are not as strict as some other characters are.
- Kafka’s Ultimate causes enemies to receive Lightning DoT damage based on Kafka’s ATK. As a result, we’ll want to build ATK on her as opposed to Crit stats. The Band of Sizzling Thunder set is her best option, as it also increases Lightning DMG and can increase the wearer’s ATK by 20% after using her Skill. Aim for ATK stats and SPD on her boots to ensure she gets more uptime. For her 2-piece set, use the Space Seeling Station set for even more ATK buffs.

Here are some of Kafka’s most important Eidolons to hit:
- Her Eidolon 1 can increase DoT uptime when her Talent triggers a follow-up attack. Her Eidolon 2 also increases all DoT damage on the team by a flat 25%. This two Eidolons will be great damage boosts to your team.
- Her Eidolon 4 can help mitigate Energy requirements, allowing Kafka to use her Burst more often.
