The missions in Modern Warfare 3’s campaign are fairly straightforward. And with the new Open Mission playstyle, which makes the levels more open-ended, playing Modern Warfare 3’s campaign can feel more creative than past entries. But there will still be points that leave you scratching your head, like the section in Modern Warfare 3 that requires you to defuse a bomb.
This guide will explain how to do it.
Modern Warfare 3: How to beat the bomb timer in the Countdown Mission
Most of this mission is easy. Keep on pushing through the waves of enemies. The last part of the mission will require you to play a mini-game that will have you defusing a bomb. Soap will need to cut the wires, and you, as Price, will have to tell him which wires to cut.Â

Once you look inside the bomb, you’ll see a bunch of wires melted onto a small motherboard. Navigate to the right, and you should see a Blue Bear icon. A prompt will come up asking you what animal is on the logo. Press the bear option, and that should slow down the bomb’s timer. Next, navigate over to the opposite side of the bear. Head left to the other end of the motherboard, and you should see numbers that are upside down. The numbers are 15957998. Here Soap will ask for the third number which is 9.
When you let him know what the number is, a cutscene will play that will lead into the final moments of Modern Warfare 3. I’m not going to spoil this part, because if you’re invested in the story, you have to see it for yourself. After you beat this mission, you might get some of these goodies.Â
