How to catch the Pelican Eel in Dave the Diver

That's one ugly fish.

It’s easy to forget the hardiness of ocean fish. Crushing depths, freezing temperatures, and pitch-black visibility make the ocean depths an incredibly hostile environment to live in, and yet life finds a way. Dave the Diver takes trips way down deep into the fathoms of the blue hole. Many weird and wonderful fish exist in the Baltic depths of the Glacier Passage. Although this means an unpleasant time for Dave the Diver, many new fish can be caught. One to look out for is the Pelican Eel, a fish that will attack Dave the Diver, but one that is a real benefit to catch.

The Pelican Eel is valuable for more than its delicious flesh. However, the flesh is valuable as a level 9 meat, perfect for sushi. The Pelican Eel skin is needed to make the Steel Net Gun which can instantly catch up to 7 fish without damaging them at all. This makes for some high-grade sushi, especially when you’re catching fish in the depths. Catching the Pelican Eel in Dave the Diver takes some work but is well worth the effort.

Find the Pelican Eel

The first step in catching a Pelican Eel is making your way to the Glacial Passage area of the game. This can only be accessed after you complete enough of the storyline and unlock the area. The Glacial Passage Key will get you in there. Once Dave the Diver is in, you will need to make your way through the passages, battling monsters and solving puzzles.

Catch the Pelican Eel

The Pelican Eel is not the easiest fish to catch in the game. It will immediately attack Dave the Diver on sight and can take a lot of damage before capture. Make sure Dave the Diver has a suitably upgraded harpoon and a decent weapon equipped. The Pelican Eel has a lot of health, so use your weapon to hack away at its health first before harpooning it, or it will take far too long. I would recommend the Tranquilizer Sniper for that sweet 40% chance to instantly put the Pelican Eel to sleep.
