How to play Palworld on a dedicated server

Despite the Palworld team promising the ability to build and fight Pals with friends in a dedicated server, the function isn’t available just yet. As the Early Access period goes on, more features will undoubtedly be added to the game. Dedicated servers will be among them.

Despite the function not being available yet, there are already instructions on their site on how to add a server. Once the feature is added, you can set one up and enjoy your time with friends.

However, dedicated servers on Palworld will only be available to players on PC. Anyone playing Palworld on a console won’t be able to use the function. Over time, and as the updates roll out, there will be more multiplayer modes added, for both PC and Console.

Setting up a server on Steam

Once the dedicated server mode is added, follow these steps to set it up.

  • Open Steam and search for Palworld Dedicated Server tool and download it.
  • Select your Tools menu in your Steam library and open up the Palworld tool.
  • Select the option to Create a Dedicated Server. You should be shown a confirmation message on the screen.
  • You can now launch Palworld and connect to your dedicated server.

When setting up a world for you and your friends to enjoy, there are a few things you should check. First, ensure that you meet the requirements to host and play. Without the correct hardware, you will struggle to run the game.

If you are still having trouble accessing Palworld on your dedicated server, you should check that your IP address matches up. You may also have a problem with your internet routing rules. You will need to give access to Palworld and the server before you can connect and start playing Palworld’s co-op mode with friends.
