How to deactivate the conduits in the Temptation mission in Destiny 2 The Final Shape

Gather Psionic Insight to solve this puzzle.

One of the first missions in The Final Shape campaign in Destiny 2 is Temptation, which sees your Guardian teaming up with Cayde-6 to track down Crow within the Pale Heart of the Traveler. To reach the cave that Crow is in, you’ll need to deactivate three conduits in the surrounding area.

While some players can put two and two together to solve this puzzle, other Guardians have been scrambling around the Pale Heart aimlessly trying to figure out what they need to do. If you’re struggling with the Temptation mission in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, here’s how you can deactivate the conduits and proceed with the mission.

How to deactivate the conduits in Destiny 2 The Final Shape

There are three conduits that must be deactivated in order to complete the Temptation mission in Destiny 2 The Final Shape. All three conduits are marked on your HUD so you can easily find them.

Once you arrive at a conduit, you’ll see a bright orange beam of light near a stone pointer on a circular track. To deactivate the conduit, you need to turn the pointer so that it faces the beam of light. You can turn the pointer either clockwise or counter-clockwise using Psionic Insight, and it will move one space for each Psionic Insight that you deposit into the device.

You can obtain Psionic Insight by defeating the respawning Insight Psions surrounding the conduits. They pop up in pairs, so you can claim two Psionic Insight stacks at a time. Remember that the pointer will move one space along the ring for every Psionic Insight that you have, so make sure you don’t accidentally get too many by killing more Psions than you need.

To recap, the process is simple. Just kill the Insight Psions that spawn near each conduit, use their Psionic Insight to rotate the pointer, and repeat until the pointer faces the beam of orange light. As long as you can manage the other enemies and survive long enough to deactivate all three conduits, you’ll be able to proceed with the mission and rescue Crow.

The Final Shape campaign in Destiny 2 has a few other puzzles like this, but they’re nothing that you can’t handle. As you complete missions and work your way deeper into the Pale Heart of the Traveler, you’ll unlock new Aspects and Fragments for the Prismatic subclass along with new Exotic gear and rewards.
