A tough rock to crack.

Upon meeting your first Golem, you’ll probably think at first it’s just a pile of rocks. That is until it starts to move. Here are some tactics for how to defeat Golems in Dragon’s Dogma 2, as well as how to exploit its weakness.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: What is a Golem’s weakness?

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, Golems have a weakness to ice attacks, and their weak spots are their glowing medals. These creatures are made of impenetrable rock that you can slowly break down by aiming for their weak points, which are denoted by the glowing areas of their body.

I also quickly realized, as a Sorcerer Vocation, that the Golem was practically immune to fire and lightning attacks. But when I cast Frigor on it, the Golem got hit with a ton of damage and froze in place for a few moments.

Using ice attacks is a great way to slow them down, as well as damage them. Their entire rocky body should turn icy white and they’ll freeze in place. If you’re not a spellcaster, you may have a spellbook in your inventory with the ability to enchant your weapon with ice damage.

As for other tactics you should employ when fighting the Golem, watch out for their main attack from its head. They have an open spot on their face, and they’ll charge up a devastating laser, shooting it vertically in front of them. Step away from its point of view to avoid this attack.

I’d also try to keep away from the Golem in general, as they like to stomp the ground with their large feet to try and make you stumble. This may be difficult as a melee Vocation, but if you’re getting up close and personal with a Golem, focus on the weak points.

If you repeat this process, you’ll eventually defeat the Golem once and for all. Golems aren’t the only enemies with weaknesses, you’ll soon realize that nearly all enemies have strengths and weaknesses.
