Baldur’s Gate 3: Ways to get inside Burrow Holes

Druid Wildshape as a Cat

Are you a Druid like I am? Well, you’re in luck, because Cats are small enough to enter these tiny Burrow Holes. Just like Rocky Crevices, if your Druid character Wildshapes into a Cat, you can enter the hole.

What’s nice is that Druids get two Wildshapes per Short Rest, so if you need to Dismiss the Wildshape after entering the hidden room you can do so. Then, you can Wildshape back into a Cat and return to your party.

Cast Gaseous Form

There’s a highly-underrated spell called Gaseous Form that becomes useful in this scenario. This is a third-level spell that Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Circle of Spores Druids can learn. You transform yourself into gas, meaning you can pass right through solid surfaces.

This means that you can cast Gaseous Form, then pass right through the Burrow Hole. Sadly, while in this form, you can’t attack, talk or cast spells. But it still comes in handy for the times that you find these secret areas.

Cast Enlarge – Reduce on a Halfling or Gnome

Do you have a Halfling or Gnome character in your party? Although they’re pretty small, they’re still not small enough to enter the Burrow Holes. These two races can walk right into Rocky Crevices, but for Burrow Holes, they’ll need an extra bit of shrinking.

Enlarge – Reduce is a second-level spell that Sorcerers and Wizards can learn. Reduce the size of your Halfling or Gnome, then you’re free to head inside. Another cool trick is to cast Disguise Self to look like a Halfling or Gnome, then casting the Enlarge – Reduce spell to make them smaller.
