How to Fast Travel in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

The woods can be a scary place. Shelter can be your only friend

Focus Entertainment’s A Plagues Tale: Requiem and Bainshers: Ghosts of New Eden have a lot in common. Both are set in the medieval era, and both deal with the trials and tribulations of two characters. A Plague Tale: Requiem is a more linear experience whereas Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is semi-open world. Because of that, Ghosts of New Eden has a fast travel system. It’s not properly conveyed which is why I will show how to fast travel in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.

Banishers: Ghost of New Eden – How to fast travel

Ghosts of Eden’s fast travel system works similarly to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown‘s. Instead of selecting a point on the map, you need to find physical fast travel points in the world. In Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, to fast travel you must find shelter that will be labeled with a campfire sign. Once you unlock it by lighting up the campfire, you’ll be able to fast travel to other shelters that you’ve unlocked.

Going to a shelter isn’t just good for fast travel. While you’re taking a break, you can upgrade your gear and replenish your health charges by resting. You can also look at your skills here as well, but that can also be done in the pause of the game. In other words, it’s important to unlock every shelter you come across. If you don’t, navigating the dark woods can be a real nightmare.

A sense of immersion

Having to go to a shelter rather than it being conveniently available for you increases the stakes in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Whenever I go on my journeys, I take into account what I need because there may not be shelter for a while.

When you play this way, playing a little more conservatively can be the way to go. With barely any safety net, the game does a good job of drawing you in. This can be attributed to the fact that fast travel points in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden are more out of the way. So, running to safety is usually never an option.

Both Bainshers: Ghosts of New Eden and A Plague Tale: Reqium have a Photomode. The former can be done with a press of a button, but the latter seems to be less straightforward. Find out how to do Photomode here.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is available for pre-order via Steam, Epic Games Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
