But once you know where to look, you’ll be seeing them all the time. Here’s how to find and tame the Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended.

Where to find the Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended

The Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended is often sought after due to its ability to help you gather certain items with its club-like tail. But to tame an Ankylosaurus, you must first find it.

On The Island map, currently the only one in the game, you can find Ankylosauruses on the northern half of the island, mostly on and around the mountain in the middle. They can be found in the snowy tundra, although that is a little rarer. You’ll find them in small herds, although it isn’t uncommon to find them solitarily.

What are the spawn stats for the Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended?

Below is a list of the spawn stats for an Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended.

  • Health – 700
  • Stamina – 175
  • Oxygen – 150
  • Food – 3000
  • Weight – 250
  • Melee Damage – 50/30
  • Movement Speed – 100%
  • Torpidity – 420

Note that headshots do not do increased damage due to the thick armor that the dino has. Also, the Torpidity is so high that it can resist one prod of the Electric Prod, so if you wish to tame it, come prepared.

Some stats will increase upon taming it, and there may be some variance between wild Ankylosauruses.

How to tame the Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended

If you want to tame the Ankylosaurus in Ark Survival Ascended, then you must do it the classic way, by knocking it unconscious.

Get a wooden club, a tranquiliser tool, an electric prod, or a slingshot, and find an Ankylosaurus in the wild. You’ll need to use those tools, preferably on the head, to knock it out. You may have a hard time with this, but keep at it.

Once unconscious, feed it by opening its inventory and putting food in there. Below is a list of the food that an Ankylosaurus will eat:

  • Barley
  • Berries
  • Dried Wheat
  • Fresh Wheat
  • Regular Kibble
  • Soybean

After some time (the higher the level, the longer the time), the food will be ingested and the tame meter will go up. The tame meter will act as a tracking icon, so you won’t lose your Ankylosaurus if seperated. You may need to knock it unconscious a couple times if you didn’t feed it enough to tame it the first time.

I hope this guide has been of use to you, fellow survivor, and that you’ll spot your first Ankylosaurus before long. For more help in Ark Survival Ascended, look no further than PC Invasion.
