How to find hidden items in Ghostrunner 2

How did that even get up there?

No game is complete without collectibles. They’re the little things that keep us completionists coming back for more, pushing ever further towards 100%.

They are nice ways to get your hands on better cosmetics, powerful weapons, XP, and buried secrets. Some games take pleasure in making these secrets almost impossible to find, whereas others help you along the way. Thankfully, the hidden items in Ghostrunner 2 are in the latter camp.

The easiest way to find hidden items in Ghostrunner 2

Hidden items in Ghostrunner 2 are split into two groups. One of them provides more power for your upgrades. Collecting these purple chips will eventually provide you with a new slot to install your upgrades. The other hidden items are the yellow chips. These will provide you with new weapon and arm cosmetics and other little bits of lore. I know that the former is more helpful to the gameplay, but I am a sucker for a good cosmetic.

Thankfully, Ghostrunner 2 has made finding these hidden items really quite easy, at least in theory. This game is a traversal puzzle at its very core. It’s all about making your way through the map using everything you have in your arsenal to be the biggest, baddest ninja. The hidden items are always marked on your map, so you just need to figure out how to get to them.

On foot

If you’re running around on foot, you will notice that the hidden items are marked on your Ghostrunner 2 map. Although the game is slightly more open-world than the last game, there are still definitely set pieces to work your way around. If you see a hidden item on the map, there is a high chance you should be able to reach it.

The first thing you should do is locate exactly where the item is and, from there, work backward. I found that when there was a hidden item, there would usually be an access point that required me to use my newest power. You may think they are inaccessible, but I promise, if you can see it, you can get to it. You may need to backtrack, but each one is a puzzle in itself.

On bike

Now these ones are going to take split-second reactions, like many things in Ghostrunner 2. They will pop up on your map seconds before you go screaming past them on your motorcycle. To get them, you will have to be in the right lane and hit exactly the right jumps.

I had to revert to previous checkpoints multiple times to grab the hidden items in Ghostrunner 2, repeatedly smashing myself into walls and bridges. These are less of a puzzle of wit and more a test of your split-second reactions.
