How to fix Payday 3 VIP Invite not working

I guess they think you look dodgy.

The Rock the Cradle mission has heisters storming a nightclub to steal a Crypto Wallet. There’s plenty at stake, and if the guards catch on to your plan, the Wallet is destroyed. You need to take the stealth approach and gain access to the VIP Party, but what do you do if it doesn’t work? Here’s how to fix the Payday 3 invite not working.

Before you gain access to the VIP suite, there are a few steps you need to follow. Upon entering the heist, you should stand by the VIP suite entrance until you get a prompt from Shade. After that, visit Rifkin’s office, hack her phone, and validate the VIP invites on a computer. You should be allowed in with your rigged invites.

If you’re sure you’ve followed the steps above and the bouncers still treat you like criminal scum, you’ve fallen victim to a well-known bug.

This is a notorious problem in Payday 3, and the only guaranteed way to fix it is to exit the heist entirely and try again. Usually, resetting the heist fixes most problems, which is handy as every variable in the map remains the same.

Unfortunately, this does not fix the VIP invite bug. If you don’t leave the heist altogether, the bouncers still won’t let you in, even if you follow the steps to the letter.

Are there any other ways to get into the VIP area?

There are a couple of other ways to get inside, but leaving and resetting remains the most viable option. If the mission bugs out and you have nothing to lose, give these methods a shot.

Glitch Protocol

Hack this bouncer – Image: PC Invasion

If you have the Glitch Protocol skill, you can try something sneaky with the bouncers. The guard to the right of the door always has the blue keycard on his belt, which you’ll need. Glitch Protocol lets you hack radios, so hack the guard on the left. This will create a brief distraction. In that time window, you can yoink the blue keycard when the rightmost bouncer is preoccupied and sneak into the VIP party undetected.

Wait by the VIP Party entrance

I’ve read multiple reports of this working, although I’ve not done it myself. The VIP invite bug happens as the passes disappear after you validate them. If you wait by the bouncers for a few minutes, they will allegedly let you in eventually at long as you’ve completed the relevant steps.

This may seem like a good idea if you’re new to the heist. With practice, you can reach this point within a few minutes, so I would still recommend restarting. It’s annoying, but this bug will hopefully be a thing of the past in a future patch.
