Wuthering Waves: How to fix stuttering and performance issues

There are a plethora of errors you can come across when launching a new game for the first time. One of these issues that players are experiencing, as am I, is performance and stuttering problems. Here’s how you may be able to fix it based on how I got rid of the problem myself.

Exiting and restarting

Since I also ran into this problem, I decided to attempt to fix it myself. These stuttering issues actually fixed themselves upon exiting Wuthering Waves and re-entering it. If this doesn’t work, try to restart your PC itself. Although it seems like a trivial fix, it worked for me, so it also may work for you!

Update graphics driver

Sometimes all it takes is updating your graphics driver to make games run smoothly. This can be especially true with Wuthering Waves since it launched just a day after Nvidia released a new update, which you can download easily through GeForce Experience.

If you don’t have a Nvidia GPU, AMD has its own program (AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition) and Intel updates can be found through Google.

Windowed Fullscreen

Some games like to screw up when you’re in Fullscreen mode. In this case, try changing the game to Windowed Mode in your settings. Don’t worry, there are still ways to make it look Fullscreen. Once I changed my game to Windowed Mode, I then switched to my proper resolution of 1920×1080.

In Fullscreen it was stuck at a resolution that wasn’t aligned with my monitor, and as soon as I switched to the proper resolution, the game went into Windowed Fullscreen.

Lower graphics settings

Perhaps your PC just can’t handle high-fidelity graphics for Wuthering Waves. Go to your settings and check out the long list of graphics settings. If they’re set to High or Ultra High, turn them down to Medium or Low and see if that helps your issue. I recommend checking out the best PC graphics settings for Wuthering Waves.

There are many other common issues players are having with Wuthering Waves, one of them being stuck at 65% loading.
