To unlock the Blacklight Flashlight in Modern Warfare 3, you need to reach level 36. Right when you hit level 36, you’ll be rewarded with the Blacklight Flashlight. This isn’t a weapon attachment or Tactical — Blacklight Flashlight is a piece of Gear. From here on out, Blacklight Flashlight is permanently unlocked.

To equip the Blacklight Flashlight, all you need to do is edit one of your Loadouts. Scroll past Tactical, Lethal, Field Upgrade, Gloves, and Boots. On the far right side, you’ll see Gear. Within the Gear options, you’ll find the Blacklight Flashlight. With it equipped, you’ll always enjoy the perk’s benefits without having to activate anything.

How to get melee kills with the Blacklight Flashlight equipped in Modern Warfare 3 (MW3)

Getting melee kills with the Blacklight Flashlight in MW3 is actually easier with it equipped than with it unequipped. That’s because the Blacklight Flashlight’s only perk is that it shows you recent enemy footsteps. It may not be the best Gear option in MW3, but it’s great for playing extremely fast and up close.

With Shoes, Gloves, and Vest all focused on speed and stealth, all that’s left to do is equip your favorite melee weapon. They are all very similar in attack speed and damage, so pick whichever one cosmetically speaks to you and launch into some MW3 matches. Of course, with the Blacklight Flashlight equipped, your goal now is to sneak behind enemy lines and get as many melee kills as you can.

There’s no better place to make full use of your Blacklight Flashlight Loadout than in the Supe’d Up LTM. Make sure you understand the rules and how to win before jumping in.
