In Dragon’s Dogma 2, getting into Battahl without a pass requires players to follow a long path around Checkpoint Rest Town. When looking towards the entrance of Checkpoint Rest Town, make your way down to the river on the right side of the bridge. This is where you should be on the map:

Follow the river until you find a large cave entrance against the cliffside. Be prepared to fight enemies on the inside.

Continue through the cave, and when you reach the end, you’ll want to climb up the rocks to the right side. Do not continue through the cave on the ground floor, the only way to reach Battahl is if you climb the rocks. Here is where you should be at this point:

Now, you need to continue along the main path until you reach the Battahl region. Below is an image showing the exact route you must take to reach Battahl without a pass in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Battahl is the orange color at the bottom of the picture.

Just a heads up, this path is not easy. You will encounter lizards with hard outer shells that are incredibly tough to kill if you don’t have the right mage build. I recommend having a Mage pawn with lightning attacks, as these lizards are weak to that magic type.

Additionally, you will discover a Chimera and a Minotaur in one small area. While I defeated them for the experience points, if you don’t feel comfortable taking on both at once, I recommend sprinting past them and continuing on the path.

Eventually, you will reach Battahl and be free to roam around the area and discover new points of interest—and you did this all without getting a pass for entry! Just remember that getting a pass for Battahl is part of the main quest, though, so you will eventually have to get it. Still, it’s nice to get to explore Battahl earlier than expected.

Just a fair warning: The enemies in this region are much more difficult than they were earlier in your game. It’s wise to go into this region knowing all the enemy’s weaknesses to better prepare for the challenge.
