Obtaining the Rainbow Fox companion in Dreamlight Valley

The first step is to have the Rainbow Potion in your inventory. For an overview of how to get that, see this guide.

With the Rainbow Potion in hand, you also have to be at the end of Act One of the story. That means you’ve learned about The Forgotten, seen their memories, and stopped the Valley from collapsing with them. Got all those hours of content done? Good, let’s proceed.

You have to go back inside the Dark Castle, through the portal to it in the center of the Plaza. In the first room inside the castle, navigate to the right area past the Night Thorns.

There’s a stone statue of a fox over here. Interact with the Cursed Stone Statue and it has space for a single item. This is where you put the Rainbow Potion.

The statue will turn into the Rainbow Fox and disappear. Now leave the castle and return to Dreamlight Valley and go to the Companions part of your outfit. The Rainbow Fox is there with the rest of them to be equipped any time.

And that’s all there is to it! After copious hours of potato farming in the most surreal ways possible, you now own a Rainbow Fox to follow you around. It even has a nice rainbow aura glow to it that makes watching it follow you entertaining to the eye.
