How to get Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4

Strive for something new each season.

If you recall from Diablo 3 there are things called Seasonal Characters. Which would have you create a new character each season, if you chose to. This way of playing allows you to be more creative, and experiential with your builds. The feature is somewhat apparent in Diablo 4 but has its own spin to it. Since the game is the first in the series to have a battle pass, a lot of the seasonal content is tied to that. In order to get the seasonal content, you must earn a new item called: Smoldering Ashes. This guide will show you both, how to get Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4, and what they are. So read on.

Diablo 4: How to get Smoldering Ashes

The good thing about earning the Smoldering Ashes is that anyone can do it. Regardless of which battle pass you have, you won’t be left out. However, depending on which tier of the battle pass players have, some will get them quicker than others.

To get the ashes, you must level up the free version of Diablo 4’s battle pass. While this is easy to do, there’s still some confusion. Leveling up the battle pass can be done by doing various things such as quest. But note, you must do them during the season because each season it resets.

As you level up your battle pass, you’ll earn Favor which is the XP for it. While these ashes aren’t in every section of the battle pass, there is still a lot to collect. So each level of the battle pass will have the Smouldering Ashes littered around.

What are the Smoldering Ashes?

Diablo 4 has a few currencies at the moment. Gold, which can be earned in-game by doing in-game things. The game also features a premium currency, that can be used to buy even more rare cosmetics via real-life money. Smoldering Ashes acts as a currency as well, however, it can only be used for seasonal content. When Diablo 4 launches fully on June 6, the battle pass will go live, allowing players to earn them.

When you use Smoldering Ashes, you get buffs that last the whole season. This could make things like the dungeons easier to do.
