A wild DLC crossover.

As someone who loves Dave the Diver and Dredge, I couldn’t have asked for a cooler DLC. But how can you start the Dave the Diver x Dredge DLC?

Downloading a DLC is one thing, but finding the content in the game is another. We’ll explain how you can start playing this DLC.

How to install and play the Dave the Diver x Dredge DLC

As a reminder, this is a DLC pack in Dave the Diver, not Dredge. But it includes features and characters familiar to you from the Dredge game. Otherwise, you can start the Dave the Diver x Dredge DLC by installing the free content pack and waiting until you get a foggy forecast.

First off, you need to make sure the DLC content pack is installed. Head to the Steam store page for Dave the Diver and scroll down until you see the “Content for this game” section.

Select the Dredge content pack and download it, as it’s completely free! If you’re playing Dave the Diver on your Nintendo Switch, you can find the free download for the Dredge DLC here.

Once it’s all downloaded, you won’t immediately be able to experience the new content yet. Keep playing the game and check your weather app on your phone often. Once you see the forecast call for Thick Fog, that’s when you’ll be able to start the DLC content. I had to play through a couple of days before I received the forecast.

If you still haven’t seen the forecast show up yet, wait until you’ve unlocked the chicken coop. Since I’m later in the game, I unlocked the chicken coop pretty fast after getting past a couple of days in-game. One of the Steam announcements said that the foggy weather will appear only after you get your first chicken.

Make it to that foggy day, and you should then start experiencing the Dredge DLC content! The cool thing is that on foggy nights the Traveling Merchant visits Dave. You can even drive the boat around on foggy nights and dredge at specific locations, just like in Dredge.
