Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 4 has seen the arrival of several Marvel skins to the popular battle royale. As well as this, players are able to complete a series of awakening challenges for each character. This allows you to unlock further cosmetics for Groot, Thor, and more. Upon completion of the Battle Pass, you are able to unlock three other variants for each superhero skin. The variants are silver, gold, and holographic.
Back in Fortnite Season 2, you may remember that the banana Peely skin, along with others, had golden variants. At the time, the golden Peely skin was quite rare as players had to reach level 300 in order to unlock it. Similarly, the Marvel skin variants require you to hit certain levels for them to unlock in Fortnite, rather than completing specific challenges. The first Marvel variant skin can be unlocked when you hit level 105. All the variants will be unlocked when you reach level 220. However, to make it to the very end, it may take a lot of commitment and play time.
Get your hands on some shiny superheroes
Each Marvel superhero requires you to reach a different level to unlock each variant. To unlock the Thor silver variant, you are required to reach level 105. Then, hit level 145 for gold, and level 185 for the holographic variant. Next, the silver She-Hulk variant can be unlocked at level 110, with gold at level 150, and holographic at level 190. The Groot silver skin is available at level 115, with gold available at level 155, and holographic at level 195. Groot is one of the few superheroes where the variant skins cover the whole character. Following this, the Storm silver variant can be unlocked at level 120. Also, gold is unlocked at level 160, and holographic at level 200. For Storm, the Marvel variant skins are emphasized on her cape.

As you can see, the skins unlock in intervals of five. This continues until you reach the final skin at level 220 which is the holographic Wolverine skin. High kill games and achieving victory royales certainly help you gain valuable XP. However, to level up faster, you should attempt to complete the weekly and hidden challenges.
