Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trickster: How to unlock and equip

The Trickster Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is found about halfway through the game. Just like with Mystic Spearhand, you get Trickster by talking to a character. The character for Trickster is Luz and she’s found in the Reverent Shrine on the east side of the map between Checkpoint Town and Bakbattahl.

The Reverent Shrine is a small outpost, but it’s hard to miss. It’s a beautiful building that looms high above the desert flora and fauna. Walk inside and talk to Luz. When you leave the conversation, you unlock Trickster.

You’re far enough into the game to know how to change Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2. To equip the Trickster Vocation, go to an Inn or Vocation Guild, spend DCP to unlock it, and then select Trickster.

In my opinion, Trickster is the hardest and weakest Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s undoubtedly cool and different, but it’s not super effective. It’s best used against groups of enemies but isn’t great in boss battles and when all your allies are dead.

Since Trickster can’t deal any damage, they only have one combat mechanic. Summon a Simulacrum which will be targeted by enemies, pull it back to you right before they strike it, and, while the enemy is recovering from its swing, attach the Simulacrum to them. All nearby enemies will focus their attacks on their ally.

Rinse and repeat this process until you win. I bet you can see why this wouldn’t work on bosses or if your party members are dead. As long as you have the best Pawn Vocations, you’re set to become a great Trickster.
