No Rest for the Wicked: How to use the bow

Normally, in ARPGs, if you equip a range weapon like the bow to your primary weapon slot (provided you are the class that uses the bow), it works automatically. For one reason or another, like finding a shovel, using ranged weapons will have you going through some hoops in No Rest for the Wicked.

The first thing you should do is if you have a bow, place it in your secondary weapon slot. It still won’t work if you equip it. For your primary slot, equip any melee weapon, this will be important.

Next, instead of collecting arrows, you’ll need to generate Focus to use the bow. So keep attacking with your melee weapon, because that builds up the Focus. Additionally, have runes that help speed up the Focus.

After you have built up enough Focus, simply select the bow and begin firing away. When you use the bow, your Focus will deplete. Make sure you keep an eye on that. As mentioned, you won’t be able to find arrows, so the ones you shot can’t be recovered. Instead, rinse and repeat the steps above when generating Focus.

This isn’t confirmed because I have not tested it myself, but this mechanic seems to also apply to spells. Many players are finding out to use spells via a staff, you may have to generate Focus as well.
