Does Helldivers 2 support cross-play/cross-platform?
We have some great news: Helldivers 2 does, in fact, feature cross-platform play.
This means that, while there might be some advantages to firing with a mouse and keyboard or a controller, PC and PS5 players will be able to play together without any restriction. The only requirement will be, of course, to own the game to be able to join a party with cross-platform players. This marks quite an achievement for PlayStation 5 console exclusives since this is the first time that a game was released simultaneously on both Windows PCs and on the Sony platform.
Is there Cross-Progression in Helldivers 2?
In case you were wondering, while you can certainly play with both PC and PS5 players, there is no cross-progression feature in Helldivers 2. This means that your in-game progress will be exclusive to the platform you are currently playing. So, if you have bought your game on Steam, don’t expect your unlocks or trophies to appear on the PS5 version of the game.
There is no excuse for you and your buddies to not play some Helldivers 2 rounds. Just be sure that servers are behaving correctly and then enjoy defending Super Earth. If not, then wait for Arrowhead to fix the connectivity issues.
