Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil 6 do a character exchange

Resident Evil 6 - Coach

Capcom and Valve are lending each other some characters for some upcoming cross-promotional shenanigans in Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2. The former’s PC-specific ‘Mercenaries No Mercy’ mode will be getting a visit from Nick, Coach, Rochelle and Ellis, who each have a customised weapon load out. Valve will also be lending The Witch and a Mini-Tank to the title.

All this stuff will be downloaded to the PC version for free when it launches on 5 April.

Going the other way will be Resident Evil monsters Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman, which Valve will distribute through the Steam Workshop system. There’s no specific date listed for this besides “spring,” but presumably it’ll be around Resident Evil 6’s PC release.

“We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it,” says Valve’s Chet Faliszek in an unusually bland statement.
