The final battle
This is the final battle in Oddworld: Soulstorm, and it’s going to be quite a doozy.
Mudokon #48 to 50
The last three Mudokons are toiling in this room. Get them to follow you and open the portal. You should get three charges for the Power of Shrykull. If you didn’t use it at all during the level, you should have four charges. Interact with the work wheel to start the encounter.
The preliminary phase of this fight follows this pattern:
- Half a dozen Sligs will spawn. Use your Shrykull transformation to kill them.
- A mine will zip past. You can crouch to avoid it.
- Another mine will appear. Jump once to avoid it.
- Two mines will then pop up. Do a double jump to avoid both of them.
- Another set of Sligs will spawn. Use another Shrykull charge.
- Repeat the mine-dodging part.
You’ll repeat these steps until both the left and right eyes have been activated. Once you do that, two Slig tanks will drop down. They will both fire homing rockets and getting too close to either one will electrocute Abe.
The idea is to bait them to fire at you, then jump to avoid the rockets. The tanks would end up shooting at their counterpart.
Once the first tank has been destroyed, pick up the brewnades that it drops. Quickly throw the brewnades at the explosives underneath the other tank.
After you’ve destroyed both, interact with the wheel to finish the level. Enjoy the actual ending cinematic. Oh, and assuming you’ve gotten 80% in all 17 levels in Oddworld: Soulstorm, you should also see an extra cinematic where newspapers are talking about the aftermath of Abe’s exploits.
