Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: How to do the speed glitch

Break the game wide open.

You probably know by now that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet did not exactly come out in a finished state. However, even if they did receive more polish before release, their nature as open-world games means that some significant glitches likely still would have snuck through. Many open-world games, even the most polished ones, feature some kind of bug or exploit. For example, one that lets the player fly through the air at impossibly high speeds. Now we know that the same holds for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet thanks to a recent discovery. Namely, players can use either Koraidon or Miraidon to easily soar through the skies if they follow the right steps. This guide will go over how you can do the speed glitch in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The Twitter user who made the glitch go viral, @yuudainano, posted a tweet informing players on what to do. First, you need to travel to a high-up place on the map, ideally somewhere like Glaseado Mountain, Paldea’s highest peak. Next, you mount Koraidon or Miraidon and perform a dashing leap into a glide, making sure to continue dashing while gliding.

Rhythmic gliding

Next, you disable the glider using the ‘B button’ and rotate around 90 degrees to the left or right while repeatedly hitting the button to ensure that the glider reactivates as soon as the cooldown resets. Right when the glider reactivates, rotate your character forward and repeat the whole process for as long as you can.

If you did it right, you should be able to successfully activate the speed glitch and fly ludicrously far in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Not only will this let you go practically anywhere, but you can also watch as the game struggles to load the world in front of you. Needless to say, speedrunners will definitely want to test out this glitch and explore its possible applications.
