UK developer Pulsetense Games has been working on their FPS Solarix for three years and they’re looking to finish it with help from backers.

Called Solarix, this thriller is set aboard an interstellar research station where players take on the role of a sole survivor after human genetic experiments have gone horribly wrong. Trapped aboard the station, as a survivor you’ve spent years avoiding infected crew mates and the clean up squads sent in by the corporations.

Pulsetense Games say that the game has open-ended levels and features a mix of both stealth and survival style gameplay. Fans of old school stealth action may want to check this out as they are likening the gameplay to the Thief and System Shock series. Two absolutely classic titles I’m sure you’ll agree.

Solarix brings back the stealth game play of old, where all you had to save you were your wits and the environment, think Thief and the System shock series. For example, you will need to rely on a light-meter to find the darkest shadows to hide in. To create darkness where there is none, you will need to shoot out lights and break into the onboard network. Success relies on careful planning and deliberate action.

Below are a couple of videos which show how far the game has come since development started and they’re looking to raise £10,000 to get Solarix completed which makes a refreshing change for a Kickstarter campaign.
