This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Take 2 has revealed today that Bioshock 2 has been delayed. The highly-anticipated title has now been pushed back until Take 2’s 2010 fiscal year which begins at the start of November. This means the game will not make the original release date of 30 October. Take 2 has confirmed in a conference call today that the game will now not be released until at least Q1 2010.Other titles now due in the first half of 2010 include Max Payne 3, Red Dead Redemption and Mafia II. The delay now gives more development time on all titles and Take 2 says the delay is ‘not console specific’ and that the move will improve sales outside of the busy Christmas period.”We concluded that moving the release of BioShock 2 into fiscal year 2010 was the right decision for the product,” said Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick.”We believe the result will be a more compelling consumer experience and a better performing product in the marketplace.””The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2,” added Take-Two CEO Ben Feder.”We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.”
