Tears of the Kingdom: How to deal with lasers in Courage to Fall Shrine

Mission Impossible: Hyrule Edition.

Having to figure out laser puzzles in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be tricky. After watching spy-themed movies, your first instinct is to probably avoid them in fear of getting hurt. This is what I, and probably most of you players, have done when playing the latest Zelda game. But when it comes to figuring out how to deal with the lasers in the Courage to Fall Shrine during Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need a different approach.

The Courage to Fall Shrine, also known as the Orochium Shrine, is located in the South Tabantha Snowfield. I found it on my way to Rito Village, and was having trouble figuring out what to do. Once you realize how to actually get through the lasers, you’ll be mad at yourself for ever even finding help online.

After opening the large doors with Ultrahand, you’ll see your first set of lasers. If you actually touch these lasers, you’ll discover that they don’t hurt you. This doesn’t mean you should touch them, because they’ll open a trap door beneath you. This information is useful for a different set of lasers later on.

Instead, you’ll want to head to the left side of the doors. Fight one of the enemy Constructs, then Ascend through the pillar sticking out of the wall ahead of you. Up the next ladder, you’ll spot an area small enough to fit a crouching Link. You may think you’re stuck again with the metal bars ahead. But instead, turn right, and you can fly over into the section you couldn’t reach before because of the lasers.

In this next area, before you head through the next set of doors, check the right side. There will be a Construct, and a chest with five arrows inside. Now, open the large doors with Ultrahand, and you’ll see even more lasers.

How to deal with the moving lasers

This set of lasers now have some moving ones. You may think that the best decision is to sneak and jump around them, but you’ll quickly realize that there’s not much to do on the other side. This time, you want to touch the lasers. Don’t worry, you won’t get hurt. You’ll instead fall through a trap door to the real set of lasers you need to parkour through. Do your best to weave through the moving lasers, and make it to the other side to open a chest with a small key.

Next, Ascend through the ceiling above you. Take care of the two Constructs down the stairs, then open the locked green doors with the glowing ball inside. Carry the ball back up the stairs, then take the moving platform elevator to the next level. Up top, is a spot you can place the ball to unlock a Zonai Wing with Fans attached. You can now attach the ball to the Wing with Ultrahand, activate the Fans, and ride it over the first set of lasers.

Finally, you can place the ball in the floor to unlock the exit of the Shrine. Now you know how to deal with the lasers in the Tears of the Kingdom Courage to Fall Shrine! It’s a lot simpler than you think if you touch the lasers at least once.
