Destiny 2 Pantheon: Which Exotic Weapon should you bring

Pantheon will feature eight different Raid boss encounters and each of these fights require different strategies. So there won’t be a single best Exotic weapon to take in with you that will apply to every encounter. But there are three in particular that you should consider taking in with you.

Lumina

Lumina is the ultimate support exotic weapon in Destiny 2 and works incredibly well if you’re a Solar Warlock in charge of buffing the team. It also joins a massive list of already impressive Hand Cannons. This gun will allow you to shoot Noble Rounds which seek allies and not only heal them but also grant them and you a damage buff. It is indispensable in encounters where maximizing your damage phase is imperative. So support-minded players should absolutely have Lumina at the ready.

Gjallerhorn

Destiny 2’s incarnation of the Gjallerhorn may be less powerful than the good old days, but it’s still so good for raid bosses. This rocket launcher is a beast at taking out groups of enemies and dealing damage to the boss. But it also has Wolfpack Rounds which buffs your teammates’ non-Exotic rocket launchers. This makes Gjallerhorn a must-have for its support capabilities and damage output. Only one person in your fireteam needs a Gjallerhorn though so coordinate with your fireteam on which Exotic Weapon to bring into Destiny 2 Pantheon.

Izanagi’s Burden

Izanagi’s Burden is undoubtedly one of the strongest Sniper Rifles in Destiny 2 and therefore one of the best Exotics for Pantheon. Not only will it let you cover teammates by picking off tougher foes from afar, but its Honed Edge Perk lets it load a round that does even more damage. For some encounters, I might recommend The Fourth Horseman or another weapon that has high DPS, but for a blanket recommendation, Izanagi’s Burden is where I put my money.

To reiterate, some boss encounters may have specific weapons and methods that lead to higher DPS or better team synergy. But this list is a starting point for Exotic Weapon basics to head into Destiny 2 Pantheon. For more inspiration, check out our list of the best Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2.
