World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor has launched but it’s not going smoothly.
Connection problems and queues are the bane of any MMO gamer wanting to get stuck into new content when it goes live. Unfortunately it’s not been a smooth launch for Blizzard and Warlords of Draenor.
As of this morning, players are still experiencing connection problems and Blizzard felt it necessary to issue the following statement.
“Our top priority continues to be service issues impacting performance and long wait times on North American realms. We recently pushed a server change that caused disconnects, and as a result login services are heavily impacted as players attempt to (re)log in to the game. If you experience issues logging in, please be patient and wait a few minutes before trying again. We’re continuing to work to address other stability and latency issues as well as make additional improvements in game performance.
There are obviously some real problems because a round of maintenance has just been called for North America and Europe which will last a hefty four hours. NA realms will go down at 5AM PST (Friday) and EU realms at 7AM CEST (Friday).
The whole MMO launch process can be super frustrating and players will once again be asking why Blizzard were not prepared for a mass influx of players. Many players will be returning to the game after along break so population levels will have rocketed overnight. Assuming players can get on of course.
Keep an eye on the WoW Twitter account as that’s the easiest way to follow the updates.Related to this article
