WoW: Dragonflight DPS Tier List – Best Classes in 10.1.7

Destroy your enemies with these classes!

World of Warcraft is a game that is well-loved, and also well-known for its complexity and amount of depth the game boasts. There are tons of different ways that you can change how you play, with a wide variety of unique races, classes, and equipment which will all impact your performance and experience as you game. With plenty of monsters and obstacles to overcome as well, the gameplay is constantly changing, and the PvE meta is ever-evolving. This, combined with an active development team, means that the top classes in World of Warcraft don’t often dominate for too long! In this guide, we will cover a tier list of the best World of Warcraft: Dragonflight classes for Damage Per Second (DPS) in version 10.1.7!

C-Tier Classes

We can’t just start with the best right away! Besides, if you’re more comfortable playing these classes that we will list below, you may prefer to just keep using them anyway, even if they aren’t currently the absolute strongest in terms of DPS. There is a huge range of other stats that factor into both PvE and PvP combat, too! Here’s a list of our C-Tier classes when it comes to DPS in WoW: Dragonflight.

  • Survival Hunter
  • Arms Warrior
  • Affliction Warlock
  • Balance Druid
  • Frost Death Knight
  • Windwalker Monk

These classes weren’t exactly treated the best with the recent changes to the game. Unfortunately for players who mained them for their DPS value, they’ve been reduced in comparison to a wealth of other choices. However, as we said above, if you’ve got some skill with them, then they’re still extremely viable picks regardless of the recent balance changes. Our favorite class from this list is the Survival Hunter, which we feel deserves a spot on the C-Tier, even though many websites list it as a D-Tier DPS class. It ranks in the 80th percentile in terms of max DPS (128K), which means it can still pack a punch in a fight!

B-Tier Classes

These next classes are considered better when looking only at DPS compared with the C-tier classes we’ve listed above; however, they may not be better overall if you examine everything. Again, we recommend that you play the classes you feel suit your playstyle the most, instead of focusing only on stats. You’re bound to do better when you play a class that fits your preferences and skills the best! Here’s our list of B-tier DPS classes in Dragonflight.

  • Havoc Demon Hunter
  • Subtlety Rogue
  • Fury Warrior
  • Elemental Shaman
  • Retribution Paladin

The classes listed above are all-around strong DPS choices, and they usually clock in around the top 10% of classes when it comes to measuring DPS by median and maximum possible. Our top choice from this list is the Subtlety Rogue, which can manage a stunning 139K maximum DPS!

A-Tier Classes

The classes listed under our A-Tier section are guaranteed to be among the best of the best. They are strong damage dealers with a high median output and a colossal maximum possible DPS stat. However, as we’ve said before, you will likely want to stick with your favorites instead of switching to one of these classes. This list serves as more of a guide to the classes with the highest DPS stats, not as a recommendation list for picking a new main! Without further ado, though, here is our list of A-Tier DPS classes.

  • Unholy Death Knight
  • Demonology Warlock
  • Devastation Evoker
  • Beast Mastery Hunter
  • Shadow Priest

Out of the formidable classes that we’ve compiled for the A-Tier list, the Shadow Priest is easily our top pick. Being able to do 145K maximum DPS places this class in the 92nd percentile, and it is far easier to master than others at this ranking. Give it a try if you’ve succumbed to the DPS craze, or if you’re looking to switch things up and try something new!

S-Tier Classes

Okay, this is it! The big ones. The list you’ve been waiting for. These S-Tier DPS classes are the strongest in terms of the havoc they can unleash on a consistent per-second scale in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. For one last time, we’re going to warn you that choosing to play a class simply because of its high DPS can spell your doom and not actually help to improve your gameplay. Proceed at your own risk, and feast your eyes on our S-Tier list below.

  • Fire Mage
  • Augmentation Evoker
  • Destruction Warlock
  • Frost Mage
  • Arcane Mage
  • Enhancement Shaman

So, there you have it! All of the classes we feel deserve a spot in our S-Tier “hall of fame.” The Destruction Warlock is a wise choice and our favorite among the S-Tier list. It is certainly a popular pick amongst the general player base since its popularity is listed as 10% usage. However, this high choice rate may mean that it will see a nerf in the near future to make it less viable and not so dominant in the meta.
