Dishonored 2 image gets ‘no comment’ comment from Bethesda

Dishonored 2: Dishonor Harder

Much like Fallout 4, you can pretty much guarantee that Dishonored 2 is in the works. The Arkane-developed title was very well received in 2012 and captured some of that old Looking Glass Studios emergent magic with a spot of original Deus Ex thrown in for good measure.

Yesterday, a somewhat dubious image (shown above) emerged showing a Dishonored 2 logo at a jaunty angle with some blurry Arkane and Bethesda logos on it (why are these things always so blurry and poorly framed, eh?) It also had the hashtag #darknessoftyvia (Tyvia being one of the so far unexplored realms in the Dishonored world) and a message to “Witness the full reveal at E3 2014.”

It appears to be a photograph of a monitor, as there’s what seems to be a pretty bright monitor light in the bottom corner of the shot. That part is a bit weird. There’s also the fact that Bethesda don’t tend to make a habit of announcing things at E3.

I asked the company if they had anything to say about the matter and received the thrilling and standard response “we don’t comment on rumour or speculation.” Expected, if rather boring.

So there we go. Dishonored 2 is almost certainly being made, but this image may or may not be relevant to that fact. Don’t get too excited for an E3 reveal just yet.
