City building fans have been getting stuck into Cities: Skylines over the weekend where it was the fifth most popular game on Steam and reached a peak player count of 59+k. Paradox also revealed today that the game has now sold 500K copies, that’s a further 250K since the game launched last Tuesday on Steam.

Paradox and Colossal Order are now working in a patch for the game to address some technical issues including black screen on start-up, greyed out load and start game button, save issues, and poor performance on high-end linux PCs.

Game mechanics are also being closely looked at including traffic/AI issues, Cims getting to their jobs, and commercial demand. These are all aspects of the game where there may be small issues which have been highlighted by players but not all may actually be problems. Paradox say they will not blindly  “do everything people ask for.”

As a priority the above mentioned technical issues will be fixed then other potential game issues will be addressed. A date has not yet been set for the patch release but because the game launched in a solid state, it should not be too long before they release their “first major content update”.
