The premiere of XCOM 2′ gameplay has appeared over on IGN’s E3 video stream this morning and Firaxis’ Garth DeAngelis was on-hand to demonstrate.

The video segment demonstrates a mission which takes place on Unification Day where you’re going up against Advent soldiers and new enemy types. This is a complete mission in one of the procedurally generated city centres.
It’s worth noting that this time the the tables are turned with the fog of war, now the XCOM teams are invisible to the enemy allowing you to “operate from the shadows” and plan attacks.
