The blow-out on Final Fantasy XV details and news hasn’t brought confirmation of a PC release, but director Hajime Tabata has at least addressed that possibility. Speaking to Engadget, it sounds like a PC port could be coming later.
“Unfortunately we weren’t able to do simultaneous development on a PC and console version for [Final Fantasy XV],” Tabata says. “We had to focus on the console version and our goal was to maximize, optimize everything for the HD consoles. Once that’s done, then we will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options.”
“Right now we aren’t decided, we’re still considering a lot of things.”
Tabata also states that the team are well aware of the enthusiasm for a PC release of the game.
Demonstrations of Final Fantasy XV have featured the use of Logitech PC controllers; although this presumably just means the development build is on PC. Still, it’s another point in the release’s favour and, though not confirmed, a delayed PC version doesn’t seem out of the question.
