Oculus Connect has concluded this evening and there are a few bits and pieces to note, including pricing for an additional sensor and the Touch controllers.

Although the pricing of the Touch controllers was revealed in the UK a few weeks back, the US price was unknown and they will be available for $199.00 and come with VR Sports Challenge and The Unspoken.

Rift users wanting that roomscale experience are going to have to shell out an additional $79.99 for another sensor though which really bumps up the price to get a decent setup comparable to the Vive.

In other peripheral news, Oculus are releasing Oculus Earphone for the Rift which includes passive noise isolation and come with a “solid bass response while maintaining excellent mid/high levels”. These will be available from 10 October.

Oculus also announced what hey call Asynchronous Spacewarp which reduces the  minimum to widen the VR audience. This reduces the costs of a PC for VR with the ability to lower CPU and GPU requirements. With that in mind they have introduced an AMD-based machine from Cyberpower that can run Rift for $499.

Oculus Parties and Room was also revealed allowing users to initiate a voice call with up to eight people from anywhere in VR.

With all the pricing finally nailed down VR truly is an expensive hobby, even if you lower the PC system requirements. Is it worth it? Nope is the simple answer right now.
