Blizzard reveal BlizzCon 2016’s closing act and it’s “Weird”

One of the main events of BlizzCon 2016 is the closing musical act. In previous years we have seen the likes of Metallica and Ozzy take the stage but this year they have gone for an unusual choice.

Weird Al Yankovic will close out this year’s event bringing his song parodies to the BlizzCon crowds.

The Grammy Award–winning pop parodist will be taking the stage the evening of Saturday, November 5, to provide an epic send-off for everyone celebrating this year’s convention. If you didn’t score tickets to the show, Blizzard gamers and Weird Al fans around the world can still get a front row seat at home with the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket.

BlizzCon is the biggest Blizzard party of the year, packed with in-depth developer panels, intense esports tournaments, the legendary Friday night contests, and what’s sure to be an epic finale from Weird Al.

Weird Al has been performing song parodies since 1976 and some of them have been quite amusing, well amusing if you’re a young kid or teenager. It’s a strange choice but the crowd will be so pumped up after the event they should get a kick out of it, even if the younger audience
