Yuji Takenouchi announced today on his Facebook page that he will retire from FromSoftware at the end of the month. He has decided to leave the company for personal reasons. He expresses gratitude to the company, his colleagues, and his fans for all their support on the Facebook page.

Takenouchi served as the sound director of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls and sound designer of Dark Souls 2, handling most sound design and overseeing the music production at FromSoftware. Dark Souls 2 released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 11th and will release on PC April 25th.
