PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds blue zone DOT being buffed – 1.0 testing starts soon

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will get a couple of changes in the week 31 update including a buff to the blue zones damage over time. The other main fix is a bug where bullets would sometimes ignore armor. These changes are expected to roll out early next week.

The change to the blue zone damage is being implemented to encourage players to move into the safe zone and not have to deal with players outside of the zone.

“We have received a lot of feedback asking for improvement of the blue zone. We have decided to adjust the blue zone damage to encourage engagement inside of the play zone. From this new update, you will be able to focus more on the immediate, close-ranged skirmishes inside the play zone, instead of dealing with enemies outside of the play zone during the mid to late phases of the game. We would love to hear the responses regarding the changes from all members of our community once you’ve tried it in the test servers.”

In other news, the 1.0 update is going to be released at the start of November but the PUBG devs have stated that they plan to “run the test servers at least three times before the official launch”.

There’s one more live server patch to come next week before 1.0 testing begins. When the test servers do go live, the focus will be on the climbing and vaulting feature. Many players have also been asking for further optimisation and the team says that they are “constantly” working on this.

1.0 appears to be getting closer and the devs are encouraging as many players as possible to hit the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds test servers when they eventually go live. A schedule of the test server sessions will be posted sometime in the near future.
