Japanese Developers Discuss What Games They Want to Make Next

Famitsu recently interviewed a number of Japanese video game developers and quizzed them about what games they would like to work on in the future. There seems to be a lot if interest shown in expanding upon their current franchises which should be pleasing to hear for fans of the games.

    • Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno said that he really wants to work on a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, and that the current world in the game is only two-thirds of the idea he had in mind for the game originally, and that there is a lot he would still like to do with the IP
    • Tecmo Koei’s Kenichi Ogasawara  expressed his interest in making another Musou pillar to go along with Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, and said that he would also like to make an open world Musou
    • Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi stated that there are currently a variety of movements being made with the Ninja Gaiden series, and mentioned that currently the Dead or Alive 5 team are working very hard to convey the feeling of softness from the female characters skin.
    • Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi said that the Yakuza studio would like to make an online game, but for this they would need to provide an experience that is more than just Yakuza Online.
    • Square Enix’s Naoki Yoshida mentioned that he would like to put the well known attraction from Final Fantasy VII, the Golden Saucer in Final Fantasy XIV if possible.
    • Sony Computer Entertainment’s Keiichiro Toyama says that he would to make a sequel to Gravity Rush/Daze, and that he would also like to work on a hack and slash game.
