Last year Lindsay Lohan started prepping a lawsuit against Rockstar because she felt they had used her likeness in their hit game GTA V. Today that lawsuit has been confirmed.
Lohan is suing Rockstar because they “used her image and created a character based on her without her permission.” She feels that the character Lacey Jonas is an “unequivocal” reference to her.
In GTA V Lacey Jonas is celebrity who the player meets. She is essentially a satire on young celebrities and the image they have with the public. Whether she is meant to be a general swipe at numerous celebrities or whether she really is meant to be Lindsay Lohan in particular is only known to Rockstar.
Considering GTA V made $800 million in a single day, we’re willing to bet Rockstar can afford some good lawyers.
