Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Burger King

Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare x Burger King x esports

Take that, Burger Shot.

Video games and fast-food restaurants have always had this odd symbiotic relationship. This is most likely due to both sharing similar demographics in terms of customers. Even as a kid, I remember the Nintendo 64 kiosks ever so strategically placed near the kids’ area in McDonald’s PlayPlace. Activision recognizes this and has struck a deal with Burger King and GrubHub to promote Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Hail to the king… of burgers

You might be wondering just how all of these things will unite in the name of burgers and flashbangs. For one day only, a Burger King location in Long Beach, California will transform its standard restaurant into a set piece from the Call of Duty franchise. The restaurant will turn into Call of Duty Burger Town in order to promote the launch of the game.

What’s more, if you’ve been following any of the Call of Duty World League (CWL) esports scene or its players, you’re likely to recognize pro players Scump and FaZe Apex, both of which will be at the event tomorrow, October 24. Oh, and I guess you can play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare prior to its Friday release. And if your skills are good enough, you can play against the two pros for a chance to win free Whoppers for the next 15 years. I know — my heart winced at the sound of that, too.

Meat ya there?

If you’re in the Southern California area, scoot your buns down to 2955 North Bellflower Boulevard in Long Beach. The event will run from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PST. For those not located in California, there are 16 unspecified cities across the U.S. participating in the Burger Town menu when ordered through GrubHub. This will have Call of Duty-themed meals that will include codes for in-game content. It’s noted that the code “BKCALLOFDUTY” must be applied at checkout. Hopefully, your city was one of the 16 to cut the mustard and participate. That’s something I’m sure you’ll relish for a long time.

Okay, I’m done.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25, 2019.
