We’re all having fun with Forza Horizon 4 at the moment on Windows PC. But soon, Turn 10 Studios will come back with an all new sim-based experience in the Forza world. And this one will likely be better than ever. The company debuted a new Forza Monthly special (below). In it, creative director Chris Esaki provides first details on Forza Motorsport 8.
What will Forza Motorsport 8 bring to the franchise?
Esaki promises an “amazing experience” with the new game, which could come in 2020. He talked about some new features and systems that will be applied. These include a new tire model, as well as the way they can grip onto a road depending on its condition, via “dynamic track temperatures.” In addition, tire pressure can make a world of difference as well, having an effect on performance. Esaki also brought up how the “dynamic rubbering” can play a factor as well. Turn 10 is really pouring on the realism here, based on these details alone.
These come from a “studio-wise playtest” of the game in its current state, in which many got to dive into it. But there’s more, including a “new atmospheric pressure system,” which could be “affecting things like air density, affecting aerodynamics and power.” There is also a new suspension system with “suspension modeling,” which might have to do with the frame.
There’s more to cover, as Esaki stated he was “missing about 15 other things” that Forza 8 will have in store. But one thing he didn’t reveal was a release date. “We’ll be having more to say about this next year,” he said.
It sounds like Forza will make a huge return to the forefront around this time next holiday. For now, though, there’s Forza Horizon 4 to enjoy, as well as its new Eliminator battle royale mode, which is available now.
