GOGcom has revealed they are updating their policies. These changes will clarify the wording, particularly for movies and GOG Galaxy.
This is the wording from GOGcom’s email verbatim:
We are making some changes to our Privacy Policy and our User Agreement, the documents that govern our relationship with you.
Why are we making any changes at all? There are two key reasons:
- To address all the new stuff announced/introduced in the recent months. That means new content (Movies), features (in-store credit) or services (GOG Galaxy), all of which ought to be addressed from a legal standpoint. Our current Terms of Use, and especially Privacy Policy, were simply very old, and due for a refresh for quite some time;
- To make our legal documents as understandable as humanly possible. We made the legally binding part as user-friendly as we could, but we have also prepared a brief, informal summary for every important topic. The two versions will be displayed side-by-side on our website.
Transparency is important to us, so we have reached out to our community. The documents have been reviewed under your watchful eyes and deeply discussed on the GOG.com forums. We took every remark under consideration, and implemented as many as we could from a business and legal standpoint.
