Valve’s Consumer VR Is Named RE Vive, You Can Believe The Hype

Valve has unveiled their consumer VR: RE Vive, made in partnership with HTC.

Valve’s choice of partner is smart, counterpicking HTC to compete with Samsung and their partnership with Oculus VR.

In any case, Vive is incredibly impressive, and a clear step forward from Oculus Rift. Valve describes it as

displays photorealistic imagery that fills your field of vision in all directions

But this time, it’s not just marketing speak. They boast dual 1200×1080 displays, the capability for 90 FPS, and over 70 sensors, including a gyrosensor, accelerometer, and laser position sensor, producing accuracy to 1/10th degree.
