E3 2015: Pillars of Eternity Expansion The White March Part 1 Detailed

Today at E3, Obsidian Entertainment revealed more details about their upcoming expansion to Pillars of Eternity, including its title, which will be The White March: Part 1. The expansion will be the first part in a two part series partially inspired by the classic isometric RPG, Icewind Dale.

Set in a frozen landscape, the expansion will increase the level cap, add new party member characters (including a rogue and a monk), add new spells and abilities, and introduce a new party AI system allowing players to partially automate the behavior of party members. A significant amount of new writing and story work was done for the game, which sees the party venture towards an old fortress to find an ancient forge.

We had the chance to sit down with Obsidian developers today for a look at The White March: Part 1 gameplay. However, we are unable to reveal any further details until next week. You can see the new trailer for the expansion below:
