League Of Legends increased durability champion update feat

League of Legends to slow down pace of game with increased durability

More defense.

It’s no secret to any League of Legends players that the game can feel a bit fast right now. But League of Legends developer Riot Games is singing a sweet tune to players who main squishy champions, as it released a list of changes intended to slow down the pace of the game. Increased durability is going live for each champion in League of Legends. This means with these changes, you hopefully will feel a little less helpless when being dove by an assassin as an ADC or mage. Unfortunately, this might mean assassin mains might have to work a little harder.

Increased durability should lower the amount of damage present in League of Legends, which players noted was a little too high. Instead of going through each champion and lowering their damage individually, all champions will instead receive increased base health, more health per level, more armor per level, and more magic resist per level. System mechanics like Baron Nashor, Turrets, and mana regeneration are getting buffs, with the former two features dealing more damage to players.

Feel stronger

Riot wrote it agreed with the overall player consensus that champion damage was too high. In the dev post, Riot wrote: “while tons of damage can be fun and exciting, we believe that increasing champions’ defensive stats will be beneficial for letting players showcase their skill by giving them more opportunities for counterplay and to live out their high moments.” The developer also mentioned that bursting down a squishy champion should still be viable, but will overall require more effort and skill.

These changes will drop on Patch 12.10 in what’s been dubbed the Champion Durability Update. You can check out the full detailed post on the official news post here. Riot will carefully monitor these changes, as it wants to avoid a meta of unkillable tanks and obsolete burst-damage champions.
