Asobo and Carenado have revealed and released the third entry in the Famous Flyer series for Microsoft Flight Simulator:Â the beloved Beechcraft Bonanza V35. This directly compliments the first and second Famous Fliers, the Beechcraft Model 17 and 18, respectively.
Hailing all the way from the mid-1960s, the V35 edition of the Bonanza sports an iconic “V-tail” design that boosts its aerodynamics and provides some killer looks.
Beauty of the Bonanza
The Bonanza family is one of the longest-produced line of general aviation aircraft in the world. It got its start all the way back in the ’40s following the end of WWII and continues to run strong even today.
The V-tail of the V35 helps it stand out among its sister ships while also giving it a bit of a competitive edge. It features an all-aluminum fuselage, retractable landing gear (which wasn’t standard at the time of its production), and relatively simple flying mechanics. All of this is what’s made it popular with pilots around the world.
She also has 285 horsepower to crank out from her 6-cylinder piston engine, which was created by Continental. This gives the Bonanza a zippy cruise speed of 203 miles per hour, with a range of 900 miles. It’s not enough to go fully cross-country, but it’s enough to make doing so an achievable task within good time. With a peak altitude of 18,500ft, the Bonanza V35 also allows pilots to climb up and out of the way of inclement weather.
There are still a lot of Bonanzas puttering around the globe, including old-timers such as the V35. A lot of current version have been overhauled with modern avionics, which allows modern tech to compliment its stellar mechanical capabilities. The version here in the sim keeps the V35 only sightly modern. 
Considering that the Bonanza G36 has been in the sim since launch, this choice for the Famous Flyer line is a bit odd. Still, the V-tail of the V35 gives it different flight characteristics, making it worth checking out just for the extra attention-to-detail. And with an asking price of $14.99, the Bonanza V35 is still cheaper than most other general aviation planes that have been coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator.Â
